I am deep-cleaning my toaster oven pans. Woohoo! I am a P-A-R-T-Y animal!
Four hours later, I got this reply...
jst back frm joan jett(Translation: I just got back from a Joan Jett concert. Also, perhaps you should get a life.)
Fun fact: I was Joan Jett for Halloween as a toddler. Leather biker jacket, etc. Some kiddos listened to Raffi; I knew the lyrics to "Cherry Bomb" by age 3.
And then I got this email from her this morning:
Going to see Judas Priest with dad and J ina few hrs.
(Translation: Your father and I are way, way cooler than you.)
Back to Joan Jett. I heart Joan Jett. Always have. Always will.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but she imparted a certain influence on my life. I typed my grade school homework beneath a framed, autographed photo of her. I vividly remember my father washing his car with "I Love Rock 'n Roll" playing in the background. She provided me with hours of great driving music on the 350-trip from Philly to Boston. She was edgy not for the sad sake of being edgy, and not to make any kind of statement; she simply was edgy as much as she was, well, Joan. And she has been rockin' for decades. Love her.

Usefulness of the day: If you actually give your toaster oven pans a regular cleaning, you won't need to do what I did Friday night. But if you just can't get the gunk off, pull out your biggest pot and fill it with lots of dishwashing soap and water. Let it boil. Then get a-scrapin'!

lol. I've been reading & not commenting so this time I thought I'd better comment ~ only I'm completely brain dead. I am NOT cool. I am waaay too old for the sort of schedule Ditz keeps me on. I think you're way ahead. I have no idea who Joan Jett is.
Joan Jett has always been crush material for me...and how can anyone hear "I hate myself for loving you" and not not rock along with her? Lucky mom :)
Laughing that your parents are attending cool concerts while you're cleaning your kitchen!
I have a thing for The Carpenters. My mom listened to them a lot when I was very little. Happy memories.
LOL I know the feeling. When I try to call my mom, she is always out doing something. Told her she isn't aloud to have a life if it makes mine look dull. LOL
Ha Ha, your parents are too cool :)
